At Artful Agenda, we’re always looking for ways to make digital planning more flexible, organized, and, of course, beautiful. This fall, we’re excited to introduce a new way to break big tasks into manageable steps, along with a brand-new collection of fall-inspired covers and stickers to give your planner a seasonal refresh.
Here’s a closer look at what’s new in Artful Agenda!
Break Big Tasks Into Manageable Steps
Ever have a task that sounds simple enough when you write it down, but then you realize it actually involves five smaller things?
Now, you can keep those related to-dos together with subtasks for tasks and goals!
With our newest feature, you can create subtasks underneath existing tasks in the Task and Goals boxes on the Month, Week, and Day tabs. This makes it easier to break larger projects into smaller, actionable steps without filling your planner with a long list of separate tasks.
For example, instead of adding several unrelated tasks for planning a fall party, you could create one main task:
Plan Fall Game Night
Then add subtasks such as:
- Choose games
- Make a snack list
- Invite friends
- Pick up drinks
- Set up the game table
Everything stays together, so you can see both the big picture and the individual steps needed to make it happen.
How to Create Subtasks
Creating subtasks is easy, whether you’re planning on a computer, tablet, or phone.
👉🏻 On a computer:
Use the Tab key to turn a task into a subtask. Want to move it back to the main level? Press Shift + Tab to outdent it.
👉🏻 On a phone or tablet:
Use a swipe right to indent a task and make it a subtask, or swipe left to move it back to the main level.
Subtasks are designed to give you another layer of organization without making your planner feel more complicated. And because they stay grouped under the main task, it’s easy to see how all those little steps fit into the bigger picture.
Whether you’re tackling a work project, getting ready for a trip, organizing your home, or simply trying to turn an overwhelming to-do into a series of smaller steps, subtasks can help you take it one step at a time.
