Artful Agenda Status Updates

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has reported an outage that is impacting numerous websites and businesses on October 20th, 2025. See ongoing status updates here.

UPDATE 10:20/25 5:55 p.m. CST: For now, Artful’s AWS servers seem to be working well, so we wanted to let everyone know that they should be able to fully access their Artful Agenda.

Also, we know how stressful this was for users who depend on consistent, full access to everything Artful offers. We want you to know that we take this sort of thing very seriously, and even though this outage didn’t have a root cause inside our system, we want to make sure our users feel seen and heard in their frustration. We will be following the AWS news/communication very closely to ensure that adequate protections are put in place to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

And finally, our team has worked to release a brand new, free sticker pack today as a thank you for your patience and understanding with this outage. Look for the “Meal Plan” sticker in the sticker tab on your Artful Agenda. We hope it at least softens the blow of a stressful day. Thank you all for being such a loyal part of the Artful family

UPDATE 10/20/25 2:10 p.m. CST: From our lead developer “We have managed to launch a few more instances. A good sign that we might be moving toward resolution here.”

UPDATE 10/20/25 11:30 a.m. CST : Amazon has confirmed that the issue stems from a problem within their internal network, and their engineers are actively working to resolve it as quickly as possible.

UPDATE 10/20/25 8:20 A.M. CST: You may have seen the news that Amazon servers are experiencing an outage and causes widespread internet outages like Reddit, Snapchat, and tons more. Unfortunately this affects Artful Agenda too. Even though this is our of our control, we are watching the situation closely. We will keep you updated and send a follow up email once service is restored. We are confident that this issue will be resolved as quickly.

Reminder, your events still live in your source calendars. Also, don’t worry, all of your information inside Artful is safely stored and backed up. Once Amazon Servers are back up, we will be good to go!

These sorts of things are not common and we know how important it is for you to have access to your agenda at all times.

Artful Agenda uses AWS to securely host and store our data — it’s the same trusted platform used by companies like Netflix, Spotify, and Pinterest.

While AWS is owned by Amazon, it’s separate from the Amazon shopping website. Artful Agenda isn’t owned or operated by Amazon; we simply rely on AWS as a reliable cloud service provider.

The good news is that your Artful Agenda data is safe and backed up. Once AWS resolves the issue, everything will return to normal and we will send communication out to confirm everything has been resolved.
